Model 1a, maximum ionic conductances

The relative maximum ionic conductances of model 1a compared to the values used in the preliminary model were changed by up to 900% (figure 3b), although the overall maximum ionic conductances computed by ion class (Na+, K+, and Ca2+) only changed by up to 170% (figure 3c). Since the properties of individual conductance contributions to the voltage behavior of ELL granular cells have not been identified in vivo, these changes represent predictions of the model in terms of relative channel densities. Conductances that were greatly increased with respect to default D’Angelo et al. (2001) levels include I-NaP, I-NaR, I-KV, I-KM, and I-KIR (figure 3b). Conductances that were significantly decreased include I-KA and I-KCa (figure 3b).
